West End Beaches

The west end beaches in the winter are wild.  No one ever told me that all the photos of the wide, tranquil beaches
posted online were taken in the summer!  In the winter, the surf takes most of the sand away, but the waves are amazing. 
They were however, just as deserted as advertised.

Papohaku Beach - the longest beach in Hawaii. 
It's 3 miles long, and 300 feet wide (in the summer!)



















Dixie Maru Beach - the most sheltered beach on the west end
