On the road in Europe in the 1980s, with

the banker,
the CEO,

the A/V producer,

and the slide guy (me)

In the mid to late 1980s, working for Rod Morrison, I programmed the slides and TD'ed on a series of "IPO tours" for Shearson-Lehman Brothers.
The tours consisted of a week in Europe, with a daily breakfast meeting, and a daily lunch meeting - 10 different cities.  Then the tour would continue on through the USA, again with two shows, in two cities, each day.  In Europe, Rod and I would travel with the clients on their private jet.  In the USA I would fly commercial and do all the breakfast meetings, and another tech would run all the lunches - each in our respective cities.

30+ years later, I am still doing shows for Rod - I'm still waiting for another tour on the private jet....

Here are some photos of me on the plane, on the European leg of one of those tours.

Here's Rod and I, preparing to ship out.

On the way back from Europe the plane would refuel in Iceland at Keflavik Airport.  We would go inside the spartan terminal (it does NOT look like this now), knock on the door of the gift shop - waking up the owner, then buy our Icelandic sweaters, and be on our way.  And the gift shop owner would lock up the shop and go back to his nap.
